media is outrageous. I now understand the crooked ways they come about
their funding. I assume they target individuals who are not personally
involved. Anyone who could have seen it with their own eyes would have
no doubts as to PPI/FOA's true character. I am glad this website is
here for those seeking the truth.
The statements made about the
serval cages are preposterous. There is an aerial map on PPI/FOA's
website. It is hard to see if you don't know where to look but it shows
the size difference of the old and new enclosures. I saw the old cage
with my own eyes. That is no way for a serval to live. Just being
labeled "holding pen" should say something. It turned out to be a
serval enclosure for 6-7 YEARS! We were eager to see them in
their new enclosures that allowed them to hide, climb, and lay out in
grass. There was even a kiddie pool we were eventually going to put
fish in for some enrichment. All the staff that were there for that had
smiles on their faces. How exciting! PPI/FOA should be happy for those
servals. Their lives have been greatly improved! Another fact is that
the enclosures we placed the servals in (the ones PPI claim are too
small) are the same size enclosure they themselves placed 3 mountain
lions in! We were working on doubling the size of the mountain lion's
enclosure PPI had given them!
Continuing on with PPI/FOA's lies are
the videos. They say we left the place in "shambles". I can only laugh
at this comment! We cleaned enclosures continuously on a regular basis.
We entered each enclosure, disinfected, scrubbed, enriched, handed out
blankets and laid down hay. PPI's previous method was to spray out the
cage with high pressured water from the outside. No disinfecting ...
that should say enough. The monkey night boxes were not even opened up
to clean the inside and it is not like the monkeys always used the
restroom outside the night box. One can only imagine how much filth had
accumulated. It is obviously easier to leave a barren cage so that when
it rains you don't have wet toys, hay, blankets to clean all over
again, but the receivership team loved seeing the joy it brought all
the animals to have these things. We believe they are essential to
their well being. It isn't going to stay picture perfect the animals
play and tear things up and drag them around. ENRICHMENT!!! It gives
them something to do. If it rained (which in their video you can see
storm clouds) we were immediately right back to ensuring they had clean
dry enclosures. We pushed ourselves and each other to give these
animals the best living environment possible. Thank you PPI
receivership team!!!

Comment on Should the Animals transferred out of PPI to other Sanctuaries during the Receivership be brought back to FoA-PPI ?

PPI is an outdated and run down facility. In my opinion it is an animal hoarding facility. It seems like they just kept accepting animals for the money that would come with that animal. Who checks to make sure that money is used as it was promised? According to the lawsuit I doubt it was.
The population at the time of the AG take over was busting at the seams. The receivership alleviated the majority of the overcrowding and performed numerous vasectomies. Animals were allowed to breed at will at PPI which of course added to the overcrowded cramped conditions. The animals relocated are all in far more caring and advanced facilities (zoos, sanctuaries, humane society). Again…. Why wouldn’t PPI/FOA want the best for the animals?
Several people have brought up this point but I must stress it again that Primarily Primates Inc. is already financially strapped. They don't even provide enrichment, hay, blankets and in most cases produce. They provide an empty corncrib with monkey chow. The bare minimum if that and they are/were financially strapped and have made it a priority to retrieve ALL the relocated animals. This not only cuts into them financially but affects the animals already in their care. I think this shows PPI/FOA's true colors. They can be spending that money to improve existing enclosures, build new advanced enclosures, provide enrichment, hay, blankets, produce, etc. The list goes on and on. You don't have to be someone who is very informed on this whole situation to realize that this decision in not for the animals best interest, but it is PPI/FOA's personal vendetta. The stress on those animals during the move would be enough reason to leave them in the caring facilities that they are at now. Best wishes to all of them!

Comment on Why The Texas Attorney General dropped the case !

The outcome of this lawsuit leaves me with no faith in our legal system. I saw PPI in 2003-2004 and again during the receivership. The receivership must have been like a vacation for all the animals at PPI. What a horrible retirement/life they will have to endure. To have that much evidence against previous management (this includes Wally/ board members/ supervisors) and in the end say it was only one person at fault and return the sanctuary to the hands of the people who aided in this disgrace is unbelievable. I then have to ask; what is the purpose of a board? Are they not there to monitor decisions made concerning the sanctuary, which includes the health and well being of the animals in their care? This situation was not brought on by just one person. Several people could have chosen to intervene and speak up for the animals’ sake. The AG gave into settlement conditions that he said he would never agree to. Why? There are many different angles you can look at this case and ask this question over and over. And what of the ongoing inspections the AG's office promised? Are they even doing the inspections? Are they taking an expert with them that knows what he/she is looking for while on the property? I think the AG's office just wanted this case to be done with. I guess the majority of the people in this world see animals as mere "property". This baffles me! I can't believe PPI/FOA can't look at the animals entrusted to their care and not want more for them! It makes me question their motives.

Comment on Should the Animals transferred out of PPI to other Sanctuaries during the Receivership be brought back to FoA-PPI ?

Great website! like in October with my own eyes. Unless you know for a fact how an
organization is run and what they are really all about, it is probably
not wise to send them money. I have sent money over the years to the
same organizations that all of you have, including PPI and FOA. I did
that based on the papers they sent me in the mail. That really is not a
good reason to support an organization. I called PPI many times,
wanting to visit and it just never could be arranged. Now I know why.
If I had seen it I would not have sent a dime, sorry to say, because it
would be questionable where the money was ending up. Same with FOA,
love their pretty magazine but do I want to pay for it? Or legal fees
to support people like those running PPI? No. I have been fairly
gullible at times in my life, too trusting, assuming that everyone
thinks the way I do, but they do not. Some do, including the receiver
Lee Theisen Watt. I wish PF of FOA would ask Ms. Watt for some advise,
but I think PF believes she is above needing advice. No one is. It is
not too late.

Comment on Is There Freedom of Speech in Texas ?

Apparently NOT !

The website, www.primarilyprimatesxposed.com was created an outlet for those of us who truly love the animals we cared for during our time of the State Appointed Receivership. The Animals have been let down , we have been let down. The Animals cannot "speak" their truth and for the last 8 months we too couldn't speak of our truths. The truths the Animals lived everyday, the truths we lived everyday. The Truth is prior to October 13th, 2006, the Animals lived horrors each day and that same day and each day for many many days, we watched them live in that horror, their truth. BUT not for long, they began to live the life they should have been given years ago. They finally saw the TRUE way it should be as best it could be considering the circumstances, they were in cages. And we watched them laugh and love again. They weren't angry any more. It was beautiful for all of us. The blood, the sweat, the tears it was worth everything. It stood for who we are as human beings, as PRIMATES. Every hoot-pant was music everyday.

The Animals still cannot speak of their truths and here very shortly we too WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to speak our truths.

Why is that, Does the Truth hurt ? The Truth only hurts when one is ashamed of the Truth.

The Truth unspoken, the Truth unknown......

Comment on Is There Freedom of Speech in Texas ?

Thank goodness!

Comment on Should the Animals transferred out of PPI to other Sanctuaries during the Receivership be brought back to FoA-PPI ?

I had the pleasure of visiting Chaiphaven yesterday and let me tell you
this is by far one of the best chimpanzee sanctuaries I've seen! For
the OSU chimps to be sent back to that pit in Texas would be horrific
for the chimps. I pray that they can live out their lives in the
happiness they so deserve!

Comment on Is There Freedom of Speech in Texas ?

How is it that people can put porn on the internet and all kinds of trash, and not a site like this? What is the problem with a site like this, who is getting their feelings hurt and who does not want the truth told? I am apalled, and completely understand your need to tell the truth. I also saw the before and after PPI and the receivership was hands down when I would have perferred to live there, were I a captive animal of any sort. Bizarre personalities and shady pasts aside, what matters is how the animals are treated, and if I thought the animals were safe I would ask you to stop it already, leave those odd people alone...but I suppose those that are now in charge really don't want you snooping around and showing everyone their dirty laundry. I don't understand why they did not welcome the help of those that were working so hard at PPI during the receivership...it would have made for a much better transition for the residents. I don't pray much but I am praying about this, I don't know what else I can do. Thankyou for your fighting spirits, all of you. Please don't give up on the animals, even though some people really want you to.
